Scientifically Evaluated Indications

  • Cervicalgia (neck pain)

  • Lumbago (acute lower back pain)

  • Low back pain (lumbar pain)

  • Sciatica (pain along the back of the thighs) and cruralgia (pain along the front of the thighs)

  • Acute torticollis (sudden neck stiffness)

  • Dorsalgia (pain between the shoulder blades)

  • Pelvic dysfunction (painful sacroiliac syndromes)

  • Intercostal neuralgia

  • Cervico-brachial neuralgia (neck pain radiating into an arm)

  • Pain related to spinal postural disorders (scoliosis, upper crossed syndrome, lower crossed syndrome, etc.)

  • Certain types of coccyx pain

  • Cervicogenic headaches (headaches originating from the neck)

  • Referred facial pain originating from the neck

  • Dizziness

  • Jaw pain or temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD/SADAM)

Relief for Joint Disorders

  • Shoulder or scapular pain

  • Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)

  • Golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis)

  • Tendinitis

  • Knee pain

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome (wrist pain)

  • Heel or ankle pain

Functional Disorders

Many clinicians and patients report improvements in functional visceral disorders (somato-visceral effects) following chiropractic care. These may include:

  • Changes in intestinal transit

  • Improved breathing sensations

  • Alterations in the menstrual cycle

  • Reduction of infant colic

However, these improvements are not systematic and do not yet reflect the current state of scientific knowledge.
